About Me

Hello.  I am so pleased you’ve taken a moment to explore my website.  I was born and raised in Southern California.  For most of my life, I pursued a career as a professional opera singer.  It was a beautiful and incredible journey that took me to places like New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and even Germany.  As I matured, I realized that I was missing something fundamental in my life.  Although my budding career as an opera singer might sound glamorous and exciting, it also left me feeling empty and isolated.

Thus began my journey to find my true Self.

Coming from a family of pharmacists, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, and small business owners, somehow all of these parts of myself and my upbringing have brought me to where I am today as a counselor in my own private practice.  It has also brought me to beautiful Central Oregon, where I now claim my forever-home with my family.

I obtained my Master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Oregon State University, Cascades.  I am a level 1 trained PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy) practitioner.  I hold a level 1 training in clinical hypnosis from the Oregon Society of Clinical Hypnosis and I am trained in Internal Family Systems from the IFS Institute Online Circle Program.

Please see “Approach” to learn more about my vision as a counselor.

Approach

Human beings possess profound resilience.  I also know that life inherently has pain and challenges.  In these times, it can be empowering to have someone come beside us and bear witness to our unique story.  I believe that all humans are born with a core Self who is comprised of curiosity, love, and compassion.  Sometimes along the way after suffering from trauma or a rupture in attachment, we need help to re-access our true Self.  My role as a counselor is to join with you collaboratively and explore who you are.

I also believe that human beings are biologically wired for relationship with one another.  I am extremely passionate about couple’s work and I utilize PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy) to help couples move towards “secure functioning”.  I have a passion for helping those struggling with depression and anxiety as well as family struggles and unresolved childhood wounds.  I believe in the power of hope and that our brains have the unbelievable ability to grow and heal. Sometimes this takes a bit of work and time and I am happy to be patient alongside you as you begin this process.

I am LGBTQ affirming and welcome folks of all identities and relationship styles who seek help.  For couples, I offer pre-marital counseling, marriage counseling, and relationship coaching.  I am IFS (Internal Family Systems) informed, PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy) certified, and trained in clinical hypnosis.
